About this event

Jazz pianist Bob James has enjoyed a long, continually evolving career that spans more than six decades. Discovered by Quincy Jones, James quickly established himself as a singular creative force. His work ranges from composing the iconic theme for the 1970s sitcom Taxi, to winning multiple Grammy(R) Awards, to co-founding the groundbreaking jazz supergroup Fourplay. The unlikely "godfather of hip-hop" is the most sampled jazz artist of all time - his music has been used in hip-hop classics from Run-DMC, Eric B. and Rakim, N.W.A and A$AP Rocky.
